I don’t know if I would run for office, but here are some of my ideas.
End the war in Iraq and Afghanistan
Close our bases around the world, redeploy troops in bases on our borders
End the Patriot Act
And the Drug War
Move towards eliminating social security by cutting benefits and moving the age to collect benefits up 3 months every year, use the pay roll tax for social security to run other functions of government
Cut Medicaid entirely
Cut Medicare parts C and D
Allow health insurance competition across state lines, enable tort reform
Allow people to withdraw the money they give to their employer to buy health insurance tax free so they can go out and buy their own policy, thus it won’t be tied to their job if they get laid off.
Eliminate Capital Gains taxes, corporate taxes, and estate taxes
Cut all discretionary spending
cut income taxes 5% on the top 2 tax brackets
cut income taxes 7.5% of middle two tax brackets
cut income taxes 10% on the bottom two brackets, thus eliminating income taxes for the bottom bracket
move towards abolishing the IRS and the income tax
abolish legal tender laws, allow private mints to make their own hard money currency and allow banks to create their own denominations
end taxes on gold and silver
move towards abolishing the Federal Reserve
use TARP money to pay off national debt
Free trade
abolish all federal gun laws
workers visas for migrant laborers, but no amnesty and citizenship
reform immigration in five steps: literacy test, civic test, no criminal record(unless they were imprisoned for religious or political reasons), no communicable disease, and forgoing all welfare and entitlements
abolish the Department of Education, Labor, Commerce, Energy, Agriculture, Housing, Health and human services, and Homeland Security.
We need to abolish legal tender laws. We need to allow for competing currencies and floating exchange rates. Yes, the Federal Reserve Note would become worthless but that is the point. People would gravitate to sound currencies like gold and silver and to banknotes created by sound banks.
