How/what do I need to set up 3-4 monitors on one pc?
How or what do I need to set up basic charts on 4 different monitors?
I have a VGA splitter but that just gives me the same chart on every monitor. I was told I do not need a dedicated graphics card because they are just simple office charts, not gaming or pictures/movies? Its for trading software MT4 which has several currency pairs and I want to put 4 pairs up on 4 separate monitors. I know that I have to download the program 4 times such as MT4_1, underscore 2,3,4, and so on but when I open MT4_1 my VGA splitter just shows it on all 4 monitors. Is there something else I need or need to do to be able to have the 4 instances of MT4 on the 4 different monitors?

The only way you could do that is to have a 4-port video card. I’ve never seen or heard of one, but I suppose somebody makes one somewhere.
Maybe you could try a video security site to see what they have.
Many video cards today have dual screen capability. MAYBE there’s a way of getting quad screen capability by running 2 of them (but NOT in SLI/crossfire mode).
ADD: Holy freaging cow!!! DOUG W’s response gives a REALLY neat site! I had no idea that multi-monitor systems would be so well supported much less a one-stop-shop for such systems. The prices even look reasonable!

Those splitters can only clone.
They merely take the signal meant for one monitor and duplicates them. That is why splitters can only show identical images on the connected monitors. You will NEVER be able to display different things on the monitors with a splitter.
If you want to drive the monitors independently (show different things on each display), you need video cards that can drive multiple displays.
The new ATI Radeon HD5000-series of video cards can support 3 monitors (2 DVI monitors and 1 DisplayPort monitor), and all three can be driven independently.
If you have a Crossfire-capable motherboard, you can use TWO identical HD5000-series cards to drive up to 6 monitors.
