Like any type of trading you need to research no just pick a favorite pair (that is like picking a random stock like Intel just to invest in). You should combine fundamental analysis and technical analysis to find the correct pair.
Use a website like http://www.forex.com or http://www.xe.com.to learn the basics of the foreX Market.
Also my forex account gives you technical hints for the day. That could be useful.
